boca-pointe-29Can you believe that…

  • Fall is right around the corner?
  • Inquiries are coming in on a steady basis through the Club at Boca Pointe’s website and Facebook page?

But why, you ask?

Because the Club at Boca Pointe has the solution to the most typical questions being asked by those who want a country club experience without the typical country club commitment.

1.  You do not have to live in the Boca Pointe community to play at the Club at Boca Pointe.  The Club is the only full service, private, equity country club in South Florida that is not mandatory.  Members join the Club because they want to, not because they have to, and may join as non-equity members.

2.  Under the unique Premier membership program, members may define their own lifestyle by not only choosing the number of months they want to be members, but also the level of activities they want.  For example, a Premier membership is available for as few as three consecutive months for the first year and then four or more months thereafter.

All of the Premier membership categories have club/ social privileges, which includes full dining (three restaurants and two lounges), use of the Sports & Fitness Complex and Club pool, access to all the social activities arranged by a social director, as well as card and Mah Jongg play.  Tennis and golf can be added to the membership for an additional fee.

“The Premier membership continues to be a huge success with a very high renewal rate,” says a proud Helen Karpel, general manager of the Club.  “We have members from areas such as Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, as well as throughout Boca Raton and all the way up to Highland Beach.

“The high retention rate demonstrates that we have the right membership programs that provide a rewarding country club experience with a reasonable pricing structure.  Many of our Premier members are accustomed to driving up to 30 minutes to the Club, which is very familiar to those from the Northeast where the clubs are non-residential.” Karpel adds.

If your only interest is golf, the Club at Boca Pointe has an Annual Golf membership program that answers this need.  It also offers lunch and lounge privileges with dining access one time a week in the main clubhouse.

The Club at Boca Pointe is all about making new friends and enjoying them for many years to come, loving life, and creating many wonderful memories.  To learn more about the many membership options, please call 561-864-8539.

FROM CALIFORNIA TO BOCA POINTE: THE ROSENS FIND CLUB AT BOCA POINTE PREMIER MEMBERSHIP PLAN PERFECT FOR THEM

“California, here we come!” Remember that popular phrase?! That sentiment still might exist for some people, but for one couple, they flipped the comment by saying, “Boca Raton here we come.”

That is exactly the case for Dr. and Mrs. Phil Rosen when they moved from Southern California to Boca Raton as their children were off to college and faced the empty nest syndrome in June 2015.

“We were tired with the traffic and high taxes in California and decided to purchase a home in West Boca.  We are both golfers and started playing the public courses.  Everyone told us that once the “season” started the public courses would get very crowded,” explained Felice Rosen. “In September 2015, we started “club” shopping.

“Because we already owned a home in Boca Raton, we did not look at mandatory equity clubs.  We look at many other clubs. We knew about Boca Pointe because my aunt lives there.

“Initially we decided to join Boca Pointe because they offered a three-month option for the first year as part of its Premier membership program. We knew we could try it out without a major commitment.  We joined November 1, 2015 as Premier golf members.  We went to the New Year’s Eve dinner-dance, and even though we only knew a few people, we felt very welcomed and included.  In February 2016, we extended through August 2016 and added tennis to our membership.

“We wanted to see how summers were at the Club as we are full time residents in Florida.  We were pleasantly surprised how much there was to do in the summer.  On September 1, 2016, we took a full year membership knowing that this was the right place for us.  Everyone is very friendly and unassuming.  Coming from the Malibu/Calabasas area of Los Angeles, we were done with pretentious people! We were welcomed warmly.  I can’t think of one person who was put off because we lived “off-site,” added Mrs. Rosen.

“At first we were a bit worried about making friends.  Then we joined the Boomers Club – we are both on the “cusp” of being Boomers – on opposite sides!  This is where we started making friends.  We now have a multitude of friends and couldn’t be happier.  We have golf friends, tennis friends, social friends, and some that overlap.  Actually, most of our friends in Florida are Boca Pointe club members!”

“We both started playing tennis; I play canasta and Mah Jongg three times per week.  Philip has found a Thursday night poker game.  We have dinner at the club with friends and also go to outside events with club members.  We eat dinner at the club at least once per week and usually have breakfast after playing tennis on the weekends. WE LOVE BOCA POINTE!!!” concludes the Rosens. The best country club in Boca Raton.

SINGING, BAND: WHAT’S NEXT FOR SPECIAL ACTIVITIES AT THE CLUB AT BOCA POINTE

Music-music-31055637-1920-1200As the saying goes: “give them a finger and they’ll take the whole hand,” the Club at Boca Pointe welcomes this luxury when it comes to pleasing its members!

“Several members approached us wanting to put together a singing group. From there, it took on a life of its own,” says Helen Karpel, general manager of the Club at Boca Pointe, a forward-thinking, member-friendly private club where members can literally design their own membership for seasonal or year-round tenures while in the Boca Raton area.

“With the Board of Governors approval, the new group was formed and set up with a space to practice,” according to Karpel. “Before we knew it, a group of more than 30 members quickly banded together and blended the harmonies of their choice to make some beautiful music!”

As the idiom goes, the singing group was the finger. The hand came next – to form a band! “Once again, the Board happily approved this new endeavor for the members, so now Boca Pointe has singers and musicians. What’s next? Maybe the whole arm! That might mean putting the singers and the band together who will start touring South Florida!

“This is what separates the Club at Boca Pointe from other Clubs. Not only is Boca Pointe non-mandatory when it comes to buying equity, but its team is totally dedicated to member happiness and satisfaction. Management and the Board operate on an open door to receive ideas that can work and implementing them.”

In addition to the two new groups, special interest-activities that are member run feature the Adventurers Club, with nearly 200 members within the club; What’s Up, a monthly group that meets on unique subjects; Today’s Living Club, doing special activities with those who recently lost a loved one; and the Boomers group that programs special events.

Beyond these targeted groups, the Club regularly schedules a variety of entertaining and educational social activities throughout the year, including various lecturers including professors from FAU as part of the Club’s Learning Center. Members are also engaged in active card play of all types, Mah Jongg games, golf and tennis play socially and competitively, as well as fitness, dining and lounge privileges.Who cannot find something to do at the Club at Boca Pointe?
