Lined out the door for dinner!  What is going on at the Club at Boca Pointe?

“In all the years I have been here, I’ve never seen this before,” says Helen Karpel, general manager of the only country club in South Florida where members do not have to live or play or dine.

“We’re seeing dinner room covers like we’ve never seen before,” she adds.  “Two weeks ago, we had more than 500 covers; this past Friday night we blew through 400 covers.

“While season is always busy and the holiday breaks bring in family in town, this year has been especially active. Our Club has really found its stride now that most of the upstairs and downstairs areas have been enhanced with recent renovations.  Members are filled with pride in their Club and finding the Club to be the place to be!

“Yet, we expect this to continue year round. The covers take a small dip in off-season – maybe a little more than 300 covers – but it is still lively and fun.  This is especially the case with the monthly soirees in off-season that invites a band in the restaurant to entertain while dining.  Off-season will kick off with a soiree in May – Happy Daze – then in June – the Rhythm Chicks, and in July – the Euphoria Duo.  It is sure to be lots of dancing and laughs. In addition to our member enjoyment in the dining area, we have a reciprocal dining program welcomes other high-end Clubs to dine at our Club.  Many outsiders from these other exclusive clubs find the Club at Boca Pointe their first choice!”

What makes dining at the Club at Boca Pointe so popular?

  • The Club at Boca Pointe is positioned as the friendliest country club in South Florida where members don’t ask to see your stock portfolio; they just say, “Hello, how is it going.”
  • The food – its quality, its savory taste.  Not only does the Club at Boca Pointe lay claim to the best deli bar in town, but the variety of choices for the buffet or on the menu is also awesome.
  • The Club at Boca Pointe, one of the best country clubs in Boca Raton, constantly hears compliments about the warmth and friendliness of the wait staff.
  • The reasonable pricing as far as Boca Raton and Delray eateries are concerned because the Club at Boca Pointe, provides its members with high quality food at moderate prices, for example: A two-pound lobster with all the trimmings from soup to salad to dessert for $45 illustrates the point only too well.
  • It is the place where families and friends want to be on Friday night, whether dancing to lounge music or feasting on a top-of-the-line, delicious dinner choice.

The beauty of it all is that anyone can dine at the Club at Boca Pointe! Yes, anyone…as long as they have a membership.

Membership has its privileges.  And, one of the many privileges and thrills of being a memberis to dine at the Club at Boca Pointe.  Yet, there are many other privileges and thrills enjoyed by members beyond dining – the robust social events, card / Mah Jongg games, sports and fitness complex, 16 Har Tru tennis courts, and the 18-hole championship golf course.

By virtue of being a non-mandatory equity country club, the Club at Boca Pointe has been able to establish the most flexible membership program in the industry. Here are some of the examples of the Club’s forward thinking:

  • Members can enjoy the benefits of country club style living without the typical upfront financial commitment often associated with private country clubs.
  • Members can design their own lifestyle membership.  For example, the Club’s Premier program offers a variety of flexible options, starting with a social only membership to adding tennis and golf as exciting additional privileges. Memberships are available from three months to 12 months the first year and then from four months to 12 months from the second year and thereafter.
  • There are a number of customized programs available through the Club’s state-of-the-art Sports and Fitness Complex.
  • Memberships are available to anyone no matter where they live.  There are members from Highland Beach to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea.  Whether you live at Boca Pointe or a community nearby, there is a membership that fits your lifestyle.

From the staff to members, new members will receive a warm and friendly greeting at every visit with a sincere heart to integrate them into the Club.  This is why the popular growing Premier membership sustains an extremely high retention rate – once a member, you never want to leave!  Why not call 561-864-8539 today to learn about the membership option that best suits your interests?

menorah-157983_640There was a Menorah…there was a Christmas tree…all on the same night!  How often do you remember celebrating the lighting of the first Menorah candle on the same night as Christmas Eve?

treeWell, nearly 500 members, families and guest were treated to something special on Christmas eve at the Club at Boca Pointe…an ecumenical night to say the least.  It was a night filled with joy.

“I don’t remember the last time we were able to celebrate both occasions on the same night,” says Helen Karpel, general manager of the only Club in South Florida that allows members to pick and chose their activities with a flexible membership program.  “Everyone in attendance enjoyed the evening thanks to our dedicated staff, great planning, and the hard work of our ritual committee.

To have a dual celebration was something very memorable – we not only celebrated two very special religious holidays, but we reached out to members from all over the United States and several foreign countries.  We entertained members from California, Wisconsin, the entire eastern seaboard, Illinois, Germany, Canada and our home state, Florida.

That evening of celebration magnified what separates the Club at Boca Pointe from other clubs in South Florida – we offer the friendliest environment where members enjoy embracing new members.  Our membership welcomes new members with warmth and kindness as if they were long lost relatives.  When our members get together, you cannot tell the equity from the non-equity member, the year-round from the seasonal member.”

The Club’s Premier membership affords a country club experience without the typical country club financial buy-in commitment.  This membership offers snowbirds the option to join the Club for as few as three-months to 12 months the first year and then from four months to 12 thereafter.

“Our Premier membership affords us the ability to effectively market to a broad range of Floridians, whether part-time or full-time Floridians, whether renters or owners,” Karpel adds.  “Once Premier members get a taste of the Club at Boca Pointe, they are hooked.  They keep returning year after year and keep increasing the number of months they are staying with us.  Why?  Because of two things:  a great value and a welcoming membership that embraces three-month members as if they were here all year long,” explains Karpel.

In addition to the Premier membership, there are many other non-equity options as well as equity options.  The Club at Boca Pointe, a Boca Raton golf and country club, is attracting new members every year by meeting many unique lifestyles.  Why not call the Club at 561-864-8539 to learn more about the options available to you?

What does being a member of a country club and Thanksgiving have in common?  Food and plenty of it…and, more importantly, family and friends…at the Club at Boca Pointe, it is one big family affair!

Executive Chef Terry Daniels and his talented team prepared 48 turkeys equivalent to 1,232 pounds.  Additionally, there were the much anticipated trimmings from stuffing to sweet potato to a delectable arrangement of desserts.

The Club served 759 in the main dining room where members, their families, and friends gathered from 2:30 in the afternoon to the last seating at 7 p.m.  No one left hungry!

When it comes to the Club at Boca Pointe, family it takes on a whole different meaning and with a unique twist. Not only did the Club entertain and serve 759 dinners, Chef Terry accommodated some very unique situations.

The Club prepared several meals that members picked up to serve their families and friends in their homes. Moreover, if a member was under the weather, maybe in a rehab facility or even a hospital, they are not forgotten by the Club. Chef Terry prepared a number of individual meals that members were able to take to the facility for their loved ones.

“Not only do we have a talented and dedicated staff,” boasts Helen Karpel, general manager of the only country club in South Florida where members can define their own membership, “but the Club at Boca Pointe is all about family. The Club is considered one of the friendliest country clubs in South Florida where members fit right in from the first day.

Our family of members include members of many different categories – we have our equity, Premier, Annual Golf, Sports & Fitness, Passport and Annual Tennis members.  Since we are not a mandatory equity club, the Club is able to develop a range of unique memberships to meet different lifestyles.

“The most popular is our Premier Membership program, which allows someone to join from three to 12 months the first year and then from four months to 12 months from the second year and thereafter.  All of the Premier categories include full usage of the new Sports & Fitness Complex, pool, card rooms, robust social events, and dining facilities – three restaurants and two lounges, along with privileges to play tennis and golf, driven by the membership category chosen. We have a strong contingent of Premier members from the entire Northeast corridor, Wisconsin, Chicago and, of course, a wonderful, friendly group from Canada.

Compliments are always wonderful to receive!  In the event catering business, however, it is often difficult to earn them because a special event has so many moving parts with many personal expectations from the host. Yet, when it comes to the Club at Boca Pointe’s catering team, compliments have become the norm.

Traditionally, the family whose event is being hosted at the Club at Boca Pointe will write the thank you note…post some items on their Facebook page or other social media.  But, when an event planner whose reputation is on the line for the selected venue compliments you, it is like a grand slam homerun!

Receiving client and vendor compliments has become the norm for the catering department team of Jeana and Bea under the direction of Executive Chef Terry.  They strive for excellence at every event.

“On behalf of the entire Signature Inspirations Florists & Event Planners, Inc., team, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude of the service you extended to our clients… It was our absolute pleasure to have worked with the both of you and the entire Club at Boca Pointe Team. The service provided at the Club at Boca Pointe was superior and outstanding.  Despite the chaos of the weather, thank you for going above and beyond to ensure that our client’s day was a memorable celebration.”

It is accolades like these words that have established the Club at Boca Pointe as one of the best venues to host an event.  When a company’s reputation and livelihood is on the line, their expectations are high and their compliments must be earned.  Boca Pointe prides itself on exceeding the expectations of all its clients!

The Club at Boca Pointe is open for catering to the public. You do not have to be a member of the club or even live at Boca Pointe to take advantage of the fabulous country club setting for any special event.

Special events run the gamut from weddings, bridal showers, bar and bat mitzvahs, to all kinds of varied celebrations.  In fact, many gate communities as far away as Boynton Beach turn to the Club at Boca Pointe to host various charity events or annual activities, including card parties for lunch or dinner.

If you have an event coming up, Boca Pointe welcomes a call to 561-864-8500 to learn more about its beautiful amenities and friendly service.

It’s here! The excitement can be felt around the beautiful campus of the Club at Boca Pointe.

Members are in store for another great season at the Club…another great social calendar loaded with everything from Broadway plays to outstanding lectures from theme dinner dances to exciting sports events on the golf course and tennis courts to new activities at the Sports & Fitness Center. There is something for everyone!

If you are not a member, yet, we invite you to visit the Club’s website at www.theclubatbocapointe.com, and click on The Club, Social, and download our Club Life. The Club Life highlights the exciting, robust calendar of fun events, lectures, and shows arranged by our Social Director for Premier and Equity members to enjoy throughout the year. This is what draws in the members with such a high retention rate!

Adding to the excitement this season is the opening of the brand new Grand Café, which was greeted by many “oohhs and aahhs” from the membership. It is stunning!

“This was not just a matter of refurbishing the Grand Café,” says Helen Karpel, general manager. “This was a complete makeover. The Grand Café and lounge is completely different. We took walls down; we added space; we reconfigured the space with an entirely different look and feel from the time you approach the reception podium – it is very different in a wonderful way.”

From the time you approach the Grand Café, you will already feel and, of course, see the difference. Whether you approach the Grand Café from the lower level entry way, walk down the stairs or use the elevator, you immediately feel and see the difference.

Once you reach the reception desk outside the Grand Café, you will know you have arrived at a place that is very special…lively, colorful, upbeat, exciting…a place where you will want to dine or share a drink with friends and guests.

“Seeing is believing,” beams Karpel. “It is difficult to put into words what our members see and feel when they enter the Grand Café. Not only is it new, fresh and upbeat, but it has more seating capacity with great flexibility for the lounge and dining area. The windows encircling the Grand Café bring in beautiful light and a warm feeling of friendship being enjoyed one table at a time.”

The Club’s year-round members and early arriving northerners enjoyed the grand opening with great enthusiasm! It is a treat, yet, to be experienced by our seasonal members arriving in the months to come and new members such as yourself. Of course, the food remains extraordinary with our amazing Executive Chef Terry at the helm.

This is the perfect time to join the Club! If you would like to explore the many membership options, we welcome you to call 561-864-8539 to meet with membership and take a tour of the beautiful main clubhouse.

When it comes to “deli bars” in Boca Raton, the Club at Boca Pointe is known for offering the best. Five stars is the common phrase used!

But now, Executive Chef Terry Daniels has ratcheted it up one more notch by turning to the ever-popular Chef Terry to make the delicate Corned Beef and Brisket that provides a hearty sandwich, and not just a St. Patrick’s Day meal. It is delicious! The Club at Boca Pointe is in the forefront of being the only country club in South Florida that has upped the quality and taste of the delicacies coming off the “deli bar.”

Why the switch? Isn’t any brisket meat good enough to produce corned beef and braised brisket?

“Ah, that’s what the average person may think but not to a connoisseur, not to someone with a discerning palate, and not to our members or guests, many of them who come from the Northeast where corned beef and brisket is like a staple,” says Chef Terry. “We’ve always used purveyors who supply us with the top quality meats and cuts. This is what makes our club standout and gets the five-star thumbs up.”

“But Kobe beef! That is another story. On the average, we go through 400 pounds of corned beef and brisket weekly,” says Chef Terry. “Of course, during our St. Patrick’s Day celebration, the consumption of corned beef more than doubles as members celebrate with traditional foods and enjoy a variety of events.”

To yearn for a corned beef on rye is tantamount to people saying, “It’s like going to heaven.” Can you relate?

But, what is so special about Kobe beef? Kobe beef is a special grade of beef from (Wagyu) cattle raised in Kobe, Japan. These cattle are massaged with sake and are fed a daily diet that includes large amounts of beef. This produces meat that is extraordinarily tender, finely marbled, and full-flavored. It is also extremely expensive. Because of the high cost and increasing demand, there are now some Kobe-style beef cattle being raised in the U.S. using the same formula.

How does the Chef turn Kobe beef into the delicacy that Boca Pointe members are used to eating? He’s not giving out that secret…at least not just yet!

If your mouth is watering and you want to enjoy the same high quality of dining, Boca Pointe encourages you to call membership at 561-864-8539 to learn more about the many membership options available, equity and non-equity, seasonal and year-round.

Think about the last special event you attended. What did people talk about the most? The food! Your guests will talk about the food at your event from the moment they arrive until long after they drive home. Click here to find out more about our menu and services!

When you put “chili” in the same sentence as the Club at Boca Pointe, you better make sure your listeners know the context of the word!

You could be talking about the ever-so-popular turkey chili that Chef Terry Daniels makes in the restaurant. When Chef Terry cooks his turkey chili, it is traditionally one of the best sellers on the menu…it is almost like a staple…like having chicken soup and noodles available for every meal. And, oh, is it delicious!

You could also be talking with Buck Deibel, the director of golf at Boca Pointe’s championship golf course. This conversation would be around the subject of “chili dipping,” which is surely not the edible type.   Certainly a varied use of the word “chili,” but nevertheless, too often part of a golfer’s repertoire!

Everyone knows turkey chili, but not everyone knows about chili dipping. In fact, most club golf players have probably never heard of that expression, yet have suffered through some chili dipping shots themselves.    Chili dipping – not the food type – is a slang golf term that refers to a type of miss-hit. When a golfer chili-dips a chip shot, it means the club struck the ground behind the ball, digging up turf, resulting in little or no contact with the ball itself. The result of a chili dip – the golf course type – is that the golf ball does not go very far.

Chef Terry keeps his recipe for turkey chili close to his vest pocket, so to speak, but Deibel is quick to offer basic solutions to chili dipping on the golf course…

“The keys to avoid the dreaded chili dip on the golf course,” says Deibel, one of a select group of Master PGA professionals, “is to make sure your set-up position is correct and you do not use your right hand to scoop or help the ball up in the air.

When setting up for a chip shot, golfers should place most of their weight on the front foot and keep their hands ahead of the ball at address. The wrists should be kept quiet throughout the swing. The golfer should make a descending blow onto the ball and allow the loft of the club to pop the ball up into the air and on the green.” With a little practice, “chili dipping” will no longer be part of the golfer’s vocabulary.

Boca Pointe’s championship golf course is finalizing renovations this off-season. By September, the golf course will have new on all 18 holes an irrigation system, repaved golf paths, newly planted Celebration grass in the fairways and tee boxes, and spruced collars around the greens. Members will be enjoying a whole new golf course!

If you are a golfer, we encourage you to inquire about Boca Pointe’s many golf membership options at 561-864-8539. The Club at Boca Pointe, a Boca Raton Golf Club, is the only country club in South Florida where members can define their own lifestyle.

Boca_pointe_food_cateringBoca Raton is loaded with great restaurants, covering just about any type of cuisine you desire…you name it, Boca has it! However, how many fine dining restaurants offer just about any type of cuisine under one roof, made to perfection, and the capacity or know-how to effectively handle 200, 300, or even 500 dinners, pushing 600, per night?

There is probably only one such quality restaurant in Boca Raton that fits that description and it is not open to the public…it is exclusively dedicated to the members at the Club at Boca Pointe. The Club has an outstanding reputation for its superb menu and service.

While it is difficult to get a reservation at most top line restaurants in Boca Raton during the season, the Club at Boca Pointe continues to set records in the number of people it feeds during the season. Open only to members and their guests, it is not unusual for the Club at Boca Pointe serve close to 600 for its traditional Friday night dinner or 300 for Asian Night or the same numbers for a mid-week Latin night.

burgerFrom a simple sirloin hamburger to the best deli in Boca to sushi, Executive Chef Terry Daniels continues to wow the Club’s members and guests with his offerings and a wait staff that is dedicated to five-star service.

“I am blessed,” says Chef Terry, “that I have the creative freedom to satisfy the diverse taste buds of our members and their guests. I have a talented team of chefs coupled with any usually dedicated front of the restaurant team that simply glides through a night of 300 to 500 covers.

“When you go to a restaurant, there normally is little emotional attachment between the dining guests and the staff. Order the food, serve the food, and move on to the next customer. Not so at the Club at Boca Pointe where the members and the staff are like family…bonding together. That typically makes for a great dining experience.

“Our main dining room seats close to 300. We have three basic offerings:

–A fixed menu

–Daily specials

–A buffet that is often themed.

“Our elegant nightly buffets are important as it helps take the pressure off of the kitchen. At the buffet stations, we can prepare al dente offerings on the various theme nights in addition to carvings from the deli or steak offerings. Members and their guests love the experience!”

The Club at Boca Pointe provides food offerings through a number of venues six days a week during the season. The Club just opened its Freshe Pointe Café in the new Sports and Fitness Complex and has a Grand Café and Main Dining Room to its members and their guests to enjoy.

We encourage you to call membership at 561-864-8539 to set up an appointment and take a tour of the club! The facilities are fabulous.

Who needs to go to a seafood restaurant to enjoy a delicious lobster dinner? For members at the Club at Boca Pointe, it is as one the hottest item on the Saturday night menu!

“We offer a two-pound lobster dinner every Saturday night, which must be ordered by Thursday. Our members enjoy it so much that it is common to see members invite their nearest and dearest friends to enjoy it with them!” says Executive Chef Terry Daniels who oversees the ordering of this delicious crustacean.

“We have a great supplier who provides us with the sweetest two-pounders in the area,” declares Chef Terry. “Our two-pound lobster dinner comes complete with all the trimmings. This includes soup, salad, two sides, and dessert,” he adds.

“It is not unusual for us to be serving close to 30 lobsters on Saturday night during the season. Many of our members look forward to this offering. It is quite a sight to see our wait staff carry the lobsters out of the kitchen,” he exclaims with a smile.

The Club at Boca Pointe offers dinner to its members nearly every night between its two clubhouse restaurants – the Main Dining Room and Grand Café. Members can choose between a fixed menu, buffet that is often themed, and daily specials. Fridays and Saturdays also offer fun entertainment in the lounge during dinner hours ranging alternately between Latin, Rock-n-Roll, Disco, and Big Band.
