When you use the phrase “Watching the Grass Grow,” it has many different meanings ranging from a ballad by Tim McGraw to comments related to “boring.” But, to members of the Club at Boca Pointe, it takes on a very special meaning.
The members are literally and figuratively “watching the grass grow” by the day proclaims Buck Deibel, Director of Golf for the Club at Boca Pointe, featuring a beautiful 18-hole championship golf course.
“It is an amazing sight,” Deibel says. “We’ve finished planting the new Celebration grass on the front nine, and we can see it growing daily.”
“The keys to growing the Celebration grass are plenty of water and lots of sunshine. With our new irrigation system and the traditional summer rains of South Florida coupled with one of the hottest summers on record, we actually can measure the growth daily,” beams Deibel, one of the few PGA certified master instructors in the area.
Boca Pointe is currently working on the irrigation system on the back nine and hopes to start working on our cart paths ahead of schedule. The back nine fairways are thriving thanks to the combination of heat and water.
“The greens are healthy and fast. We are completing the mandatory maintenance, plus we have bolsters the tee boxes on the back nine as well as improved the collars around the greens” according to Deibel.
Boca Pointe is on schedule to open the season, November 1, with a robust golf course and lightning fast greens to be enjoyed by all of its returning snowbird members, as well as our annual golfers and premier members.
“Boca Pointe members will be greeted with outstanding golf course conditions,” assures Karpel, general manager of the club, “as well as many activities from social golf with friends and monthly mixers to ladies and men’s fun league tournaments.”
