Famous-Taglines-Top-10-1024x649Billions of dollars are spent annually developing and marketing advertising slogans. Who can forget Burger King’s slogan, “Have it Your Way,” which is now “Be Your Way,” and then there is the oldie “Don’t Cook Tonight” slogan from a chicken franchise.

These slogans transcend their industries and best describe the environment desired in many top service oriented businesses. Unquestionably, they describe the environment and membership offerings at the Club at Boca Pointe in the heart of Boca Raton, Florida.

The Club at Boca Pointe is the most flexible equity country club in South Florida, catering to members having it their way to meet many lifestyle interests. The Club allows residents and non-residents of the community to join as an equity or non-equity member. Membership is not required by rules of the Boca Pointe community, but new owners find it highly appealing to join and enjoy the amenities!

While those famous advertising slogans describe the Club at Boca Pointe to a tee, the Club’s own slogans tell the story more succinctly:

  • You do not have to live at Boca Pointe to play at Boca Pointe.
  • You can define your own lifestyle by choosing a membership plan that fits your own personal needs.

What are the three secret weapons in its marketing approach at the Club at Boca Pointe? It is simple:

  1. Flexible memberships without the financial commitment of traditional country clubs. This means you can become:
  • A Seasonal member. This membership is available through the Club’s Premier membership for as little as three consecutive months (first year only) up to twelve months and as few as four months every year thereafter. The basic Premier membership program includes social, with tennis and golf as add-ons.
  • An Annual Golf member. This membership was previously only for those who lived outside of the gates of Boca Pointe, but it is now open to residents and non-residents of the Boca Pointe community, with the only exception being those who are current or recent equity members.
  • An Equity member. This membership is always available and offers ownership in the Club. The basic Equity membership includes social, with tennis and golf as add-ons.
  1. Amazing food with three restaurants and two lounges. The talents and magic of Executive Chef Terry Daniels has established the Club at Boca Pointe as one of the best dining choices in the area. Not only are the nightly menus a feast, but also the Club is being hailed as having the “best deli” in Boca. Members are able to have this enjoy great food and friends at their fingertips!
  1. Abundant Club Life to keep every members’ calendar full if so desired. While all country clubs purport having social programming, it is not nearly to the degree offered at the Club at Boca Pointe.
  • With a full-time social director, it is not unusual to see two, three and sometimes four chartered buses leaving the club day or night during the season to go to museums, musicals, concerts, Broadway shows, shopping, casinos, and the list goes on. You name it and the social director more than likely does it.
  • Then there is the entertainment on property. This includes a series of top talent entertaining members and guests with its Showtime Series during the season. Concerts from Lynn University and the ever-popular FAU Lifelong Learning Center featuring top professors coming to the Club to talk about specific subjects.
  • And, the piece de resistance is the card rooms (plural). During the season there will be four card rooms in action from just about every card game, Mah Jongg, and board games possible.
  • Not forgotten in the social mix is special, unique programming and clubs within the club for singles, boomers and others. The other clubs within the Club at Boca Pointe all appeal to different audiences and different interests such as the Adventurers Club, What’s Up, Today Life Continues.

“With the market place for memberships changing, we felt the need to further set the Club at Boca Pointe apart from those clubs whose motto is to live here you must play here and pay the price,” says Helen Karpel, general manager, “and it is working.

“Those northerners moving permanently to South Florida or living here just in the season are seeking us out because they have heard about our flexible Premier membership program. The appeal of its primary features, ‘you do not have to live here to play here’ and ‘you can design your own lifestyle’ while enjoying the benefits of being in South Florida, cannot be overstated.

“Our members want to be members. They are not mandated by the community in which they live!” Members are friendly and inviting, welcoming new members to become part of Boca Pointe, a Boca golf and country club. We encourage you to call 561-864-8639 or click here to learn how easy it is to find your perfect membership and start creating new friendships and loving life even more today!

The Summer Olympics are here, and at the same time, the summer games are ready at the Club at Boca Pointe’s new state-of-the-art Sports & Fitness Complex.

“Even though summer time is usually quiet around the Sports & Fitness Complex, our programs are going forward full speed ahead,” says Sherri Giannone, director of athletics and programming. “One of the keys to our success in keeping our members fit and happy is the diversity of our programs. We are always coming up with new programs…programs that will keep our members excited about coming to the fitness facility.

“Our broad demographic allows us to be very creative in designing new fitness programs that match the needs of varying interests. We have programs and classes that appeal to boomers, millennials, and our traditional country club members. There are more and more working professionals moving into the Boca Pointe community, so the Club is offering a different mix of classes and have even extended the hours of the fitness facility to accommodate them.” explains Ms. Giannone.

Examples of new programs being introduced at the Club at Boca Pointe include:

  • “The Pointe Theory” class: In this class, you are challenged with Cardio Endurance, Weight Training and Fat Burning exercises. This 45-minute workout starts with a five-minute warm-up followed by ten-minute blocks of cardio and weight training intervals. Each block of time is designed for the participant to reach an optimal performance level and achieve the fastest results possible. The workouts incorporate treadmills, elliptical equipment, rower or spin bikes, and free weights ranging between 10 lbs. to 25 lbs., depending on the fitness level of the participant.
  • “Color Stretch” class: This 30-minute class is focused on the importance of stretching and is available in the Activity Center at the Sports Complex. This guided stretch class takes you through a stretch and relaxation session with a colorful background. The Color Stretch class offers something for everyone!

Like its diverse demographics and workout programs, the Club at Boca Pointe offers diverse membership programs that will get you started enjoying all the Club has to offer. These options include the Club’s Premier membership, which allows members to both define their lifestyle and be seasonal members. Memberships at the Club do not require residency in the Boca Pointe community. Rio-2012-Logo-resized1.jpgYou may think the Summer Olympics are in Brazil this month, but think again! The Club at Boca Pointe is launching its own version of this worldwide event, says Sherri Giannone, director of athletics at the new state-of-the-art Sports and Fitness Complex.

“We’re not taking a back seat to the Summer Olympic Games. We’re going to have our own version for all of our members,” according to Ms. Giannone. “We are started our program on July 1 ahead of what is happening in Brazil.

“Members of the Club at Boca Pointe can join in by ‘Going for the Gold’ in several different categories!! Every time a member works out, takes a class, swims or plays table tennis, he or she qualifies for a gold coin! Members place their gold coin with their name on it in the Summer Olympic Box.

“As soon as we announced our version of the games, we had members signing up. Everyone likes a little fun, a little challenge in their workouts. This program is designed to just that!

“We have many new members at the Club for the summer and are fortunate to have a new townhouse development in the Boca Pointe community who are all members. We are looking forward to having them go for the gold!” adds Ms. Giannone.

The Club at Boca Pointe is the only equity country club in South Florida where you do not have to live on the property to play here. It also is the only country club that features a full equity country club experience without the traditional equity country club commitment, whether it be a seasonal or annual membership. soiree is an elegant evening gathering, usually at someone’s home. The jeans and t-shirt you wear to a regular party will not “cut it” — a soiree requires far fancier attire. Soiree, pronounced “swah-RAY,” is a French word. Soiree means “evening” in French, and soiree is literally an “evening party.”BOCA-POINTE 29 (1)

The Club at Boca Pointe has taken the soiree to a whole new level with its once-a-month Friday night soiree. The first Friday night summer soiree in the Club’s main dining room was a sellout with more than 300 guests not only enjoying the Executive Chef Terry delicious menu, but also dancing the night away. In every sense of the meaning, the Club at Boca Pointe soiree was quite an evening party.

While “country club” elegant, the Club at Boca Pointe knows how to host a fantastic party! It not only attracts its own members but many members from other country clubs in the area as part of the traditional summer reciprocal program.

“We started the Friday night soirees a year ago,” beams Helen Karpel, general manager. “It was an instant success and we are continuing with additional soirees during the summer. We usually attract more than 300 for our traditional Friday night dinners during the season, but to draw that kind of number in the summer is unheard of!

“Our soirees are the talk of the country club circuit in the Boca Raton area. We literally had to hang out the ‘sold out’ sign when members from other clubs wanted to join in our festivities.”

The Club at Boca Pointe is the only private country club in South Florida where you do not have to live in its community to play. “The other clubs require mandatory memberships; we simply allow members to make their own commitment by designing their own lifestyle, equity or non-equity, year-round or seasonal,” she adds.

BOCA-POINTE 38The Club at Boca Pointe is setting a trend in country club membership types with its unique Premier membership. The Premier membership allows members the opportunity to design their own lifestyle for however many months they want with a three-month minimum for the first year. After the first year, a Premier can join from four to 12 months and enjoy the country club lifestyle without the traditional country club financial commitment.

The soiree is one of many exciting Boca Raton event activities at the club. Boca Pointe invites you to call 561-864-8539 to learn more!

BOCA-POINTE 88 (1)Here is a dilemma and solution shared by many! You have reached the stage in life that you are heading towards retirement. You are selling your home, maybe it is your first home or even your dream house, somewhere in the Northeast, Midwest or even Canada.

You are saying goodbye to longtime friends and neighbors (although many of them may have already beaten you to the life of retirement). The kids and grandkids…what to do about them?

Sound familiar? Of course it does! If you are entertaining a move to sunny South Florida – there is a wonderful destination that allows you to make friends, love life and make new memories!

Moving requires change and change can be stressful unless you are moving to Boca Pointe, a friendly community that is easy to fit in! The Boca Pointe community and its surrounding areas continue to be a highly appealing destination for those nearing retirement and for those who just entered the dream world of retirement. It offers not only a wonderful community but a private, friendly country club lifestyle.

Why Boca Pointe?

  • It is the only private, gated country club community in South Florida that allows its members to join regardless of residency. The club happily proclaims, “you don’t have to live here to play here.” Members can live on the beach or even in another gated community. It is similar to the Northeast where members drive 15 or 20 minutes to their playground called a country club.
  • It is the only non-mandatory equity club in beautiful Boca Raton that allows its members to design their own membership around a seasonal or year-round lifestyle in Florida, offering equity and non-equity options.
  • It is the only club where members can enjoy country club life without the costs typically associated with country club privileges.

The Club has many membership options. Its non-equity Premier membership is highly popular due to its enormous flexibility, allowing members to:

  • Select the number of months they want to be members, with the option to take as few as three consecutive months to twelve months the first year and four consecutive months to twelve months from the second year forward.
  • Select among eight membership categories to define their lifestyle. The Club (Social) membership category is the basic platform that includes the new Sports and Fitness Center, swimming pool, dining in three restaurants, lounge and Happy Hour socializing, card room and Mah Jongg play, and a plethora of social events from dinner dances to Broadway Shows to FAU Professors lecturing at the club about various fascinating subjects. Members can also add tennis and golf play in various combinations to the membership.

“The Premier Membership program has been a blessing to those who are entering or considering retirement,” says Helen Karpel, general manager of the Club at Boca Pointe. “The Premier program continues to grow because it is meeting the needs of many, including the boomer generation that is showing it does not want to make major equity commitments at this stage of their life.

“It is a totally flexible membership that is controlled by the member and not by the club. This flexibility has enabled the Club at Boca Pointe to further build its reputation as a warm, friendly and embracing club. It is a club where the equity members and Premiers blend into one happy family without the typical feeling of a caste system.”

club life 16-17 Cover new v20 JPGClub Life, the social and entertainment bible for the Club at Boca Pointe is going to press with a record-breaking number of events, according to Jane Young, social director of the only private country club in South Florida where you don’t have to live there to play there.

Every summer Young releases the amazing calendar of events planned for Boca Pointe’s members for the upcoming year. Between Broadway production shows to lectures from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) professors to themed dinner dances to an array of children’s event, the Club at Boca Pointe’s social/entertainment calendar for the new fall/winter seasons will offer several hundred events, designed to satisfy the taste buds of every member.

“We have a unique mix of members…from those who are new to club life, those who are newly retired boomers, those who are single to those who have been with the club for a number years. We have golfers, tennis players, fitness enthusiasts, socialites, dining connoisseurs, card room aficionados along with those who have a combination of these interests. We have been able to develop social programs to meet the needs of all of our members…and we must say, the members are very active. It is not unusual for an event to sell out as soon as reservations open,” Young shares with enthusiasm.

The Club at Boca Pointe outshines all other country clubs in South Florida when it comes to its social programming. It is remarkably common to see two, three or even four buses leave the property several times a week during the season for a night on the town, whether it is destined for the theater, casino, shopping or museums.

“Since we are the only club in the area that allows its members to design their own membership,” adds Helen Karpel, general manager, “we have to be more creative in our offerings. All the country clubs in the area are mandatory; we are not. Members want to belong to the Club at Boca Pointe because we offer the full country club experience without the traditional country club commitment.

“All clubs offer golf, tennis and fitness. We do, too, but we assure that each of those departments have well developed programs to make it an enjoyable club experience. Beyond that, we have the most active social programming in South Florida that includes on and off-campus activities,” Karpel adds. These activities include:

  • playbill 16-17 Cover v1-1.jpgFive top Broadway National Touring productions at the Brown Center
  • A unique series of topical lectures from leading FAU professors as part of the Marleen and Harold Forkas Lifelong Learning Center.
  • Performing art series at the Spanish River Church featuring Hungary’s foremost violinist, music from the Beatles, and the big band sounds of Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller.
  • Miami City Ballet series.
  • Clubs within the Club, including the Adventurers’ Club, Camera Club, Performing Scam Troupe, Today Life Continues for Single Women, Volunteer Club serving the community, Yiddish Club, What’ Up featuring topical speakers monthly, and the Boca Pointe Clowns on Call that appear at various non-profit activities throughout the community.

It is not possible to list the myriad of fun events, but these highlights give you an idea of the diversity offered to meet the needs of a very broad demographic group of members. To further meet the interests of many different lifestyles and interests, the Club at Boca Point offers equity and non-equity memberships with categories that range from a 30 day to seasonal to year-round memberships. As the well know quote goes, “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” Boca Pointe welcomes you to call 561-864-8539 today to learn more! “We Are Family!

Spring arrived and so did the car carriers as snowbirds headed north. At first it seemed ok.

No rushing to find a card table, no need to get up at 7:00 reserve a tee time, no need to make restaurant reservations.

Then, October came and the car carriers returned. And then it hit me…I missed my Boca Pointe family. I first noticed the buzz in the ladies locker room. Hugs, kisses, welcomes, and stories of summer adventures.

I had intended to write this then, but I am glad I didn’t, for other events have demonstrated what a family we are.

At the Chanukah candle lighting and dinner, more than 200 gathered to share prayers and a delicious meal. For those not lucky enough to have “real” family, we were family for each other. (Who expected 100s of chocolate marshmallow dreidels with Hebrew letters and a pretzel stick for a spinner!) Then came the always-successful Pap Corps luncheon and card party. Talk about love and support for family!

Again, at the opening golf and tennis dinner dance, more than 100 members were dancing, singing and just having great fun together. We are viable, we are vibrant, we are active and “we are family!”

“This Club has had a great impact on my life. The people here have been part of our lives and my family for thirty-two years. It has given us joy and lots of happiness. This is priceless. You cannot find this anywhere else.”

“We enjoy the Club and its many activities, golf is wonderful and easy to get starting times; the staff throughout the Club is outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable; the members, which make a club, are very friendly and welcoming, whether you are playing golf, social events, cards or the athletic center; we enjoy it so much here at the Club at Boca Pointe that we bought a condo and spend most of our year here, as have many of our “new” friends whom we met here at the Club!!!”

“Are you bored?

If anyone is bored at the Club at Boca Pointe, it is not due to lack of opportunities. First, recognize that others may feel the same. Try to connect with them thru people you meet at programs at the Club. What do you want to do?

Work out, take courses, attend talks, go on daily or longer excursions or trips, make new friends, listen to music or attend plays, etc.? It is all available. If you don’t know people, there are programs to allow you to meet others who may feel the same as you.

Much of this is available without leaving Boca Pointe. Thanks to Jane Young, our Social Director, who will help new people meet others, there is never a reason to be bored. When you extend your environs and go to Boca Raton, Delray, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and other nearby locations the opportunities are limitless. Concerts, plays, etc., are nearby.

It is all here if you make the effort to meet others and find out what is available. Boca Pointe is the place to be.”

This is just a sampling of the many positive member feedback comments the Club receives on a regular basis. The Club is always welcoming new members and enjoying the process of seeing them make new friends and new memories.

The Club at Boca Pointe, a Boca Raton Country Club, offers a wide range of equity and non-equity memberships for seasonal and year-round South Floridians. We invite you to call membership at 561-864-8539 to learn more or click here!

BOCA-POINTE 73You just moved to Boca Raton with the Atlantic Ocean at your doorstep. You probably have a small but adequate fitness room, maybe one or two tennis courts, and perhaps a card room, and of course, the beautiful view of the ocean or even the Intercostal Waterway. Yet, you still yearn to play golf, socialize or both, like you experienced at your hometown Club up north.

The Club at Boca Pointe is your answer! It is like your Club back home where you can drive as short distance to golf or enjoy other amenities, while still basking in your Florida ocean view. It offers you golf, tennis, fitness, lunch, dinner, Happy Hour, cards and many social functions. The Club at Boca Pointe is the only country club that will allow you to design your own membership for as few as three consecutive months (for the first year) and as few as four consecutive months (from your second year forward), which is especially good for seasonal Floridians.

From full run of the Club to just yearning for the links at a top rated championship golf course, there is membership to fit your new lifestyle. The Club at Boca Pointe is a non-mandatory equity club and has designed a number of non-equity membership opportunities that accommodate all lifestyles.

One of its most popular memberships, the Club’s Premier memberships not only has flexibility on buying three to twelve months, but it offers eight attractive categories from social to add golf and tennis in a variety of combinations. All Premier memberships include full usage of the new Sports & Fitness Complex, Club pool, card rooms, robust social events, and dining facilities – three restaurants and two lounges, along with privileges to play tennis and golf, driven by the membership category chosen.

Wanting golf only on a private, premier golf course? There is also an Annual Golf membership that includes unlimited use of the golf course and driving range, bag storage and locker. Lunch and brunch, happy hour with specially priced drinks, and Thursday dinner are also part of the membership privileges.

“We have members that live in Highland Beach, Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, all along the A1A / ocean corridor.   They enjoy that style living but still want the country club experience,” says Helen Karpel, general manager of the Club.

“Our philosophy is simple: you don’t have to live at Boca Pointe to play here. We’re just like the country clubs around the country where members drive 15 to 30 minutes to the club on the weekend and stay for the day. Members enjoy the same luxury at the Club at Boca Pointe. They come, they stay, they play, they eat and they socialize.” adds Karpel.

Boca Pointe welcomes you to call 561-864-8539 or click here to learn more about the many membership options.

There is plenty of truth to the golf saying: “you drive for show and putt for the dough,” says Buck Deibel, director of golf at the Club at Boca Pointe, the highly popular non-mandatory equity country club in South Florida with variety of enticing golf memberships.

Golf memberships at the Club at Boca Pointe include Equity Golf, Annual Golf, Premier Golf and Sports & Fitness with Golf. Each membership is designed to provide members the opportunity to pick and choose what fits their lifestyle the best, whether or not they live in the Boca Pointe community.

“Many of our golfers lose strokes because of their short game. Hence, you have the saying about big drives and great putts. It’s the shots from 100 yards in that brings the score down;” says Deibel, “so, improving your short game is a great way to improve your score. Becoming great at chipping is an excellent way to prevent high numbers during your round.

A chip shot is any shot from close to the putting green that spends more time on the ground than in the air. In other words, the golf ball will roll more than it flies on a chip shot. The technique for chipping is fairly easy and straightforward. A chip is a short stroke; so, with the proper technique, there shouldn’t be too many things that can go wrong.

You want to make a slight, descending blow onto the golf ball to ensure solid contact. To do this, you need to set up in a way that allows you to swing your club into impact with such a slight, descending blow.

On chip shots, the golf ball should be positioned back in your stance. How far back? Set up with the ball on the inside of your back foot.

Your weight should be about 60-percent on your front foot and your sternum should be in front of the ball. Many golfers think they need to place more of their weight on the back foot, but that is a mistake: it will result in your spine tilting away from the target…and, that results in the lowest point of the swing happening behind the ball, which produces both fat and thin shots.

With your weight forward and the ball back, your hands will also be forward and on the inside of your front thigh. These aspects promote the descending blow to create solid contact.   The reason you want your body open to the target is to prevent excess hand, wrist and arm movement, which causes too much rotation of the clubface. To keep the clubface square to the arc of your swing, make sure you have a little turn of the body back and through.”

Golf members at the Club at Boca Pointe enjoy taking golf lessons and putting techniques like these into use on Boca Pointe’s beautiful 18-hole championship golf course. If you are a golfer, we encourage you to inquire about golf membership at the Club by calling 561-864-8539 to explore the many options available to you, including both year-round and seasonal golf memberships.

BOCA POINTE 220 golf double men sandtrapSeason over! Who says the golf course at the Club at Boca Pointe is quiet? Not by a long shot says Buck Deibel, director of golf at the only club in South Florida where members can design their own lifestyle membership.

Summer is in full swing on the golf course at the Club at Boca Pointe with an array of events, including tournaments, lessons, clinics and the usual, but ever-important, maintenance program. Boca Pointe’s members are enjoying the beautifully renovated 18-hole championship golf course throughout the summer months in sunny South Florida, whether it is morning or afternoon play.

Deibel and Rick McGee, head golf professional, are holding weekly clinics for all aspects of the game—women golfers on Wednesdays and men on Thursdays. These complimentary clinics for golf members have met with great success. “It is just our way of giving back to the membership a little something extra in the off-season,” says Deibel, who is one of the few PGA pros in South Florida that has achieved “Master” status.

Like a little competition on the course? Summer golf at the Club at Boca Pointe offers that as well! Competitive programming includes hosting:

  • Golf teams for the Ladies’ South County League, Men’s South County League, and Emerald League for low handicappers.
  • Boys of Summer league, a unique, fun nine-hole competition, on Wednesdays when the South County team is playing at another course.
  • Monthly Sunday Mixers usually themed around a holiday. The Mixers draw sellout entrants, welcoming couples and singles.

“All that activity and regular play is planned around a strategic summer maintenance program,” adds Deibel. “Summer is the grass growing season, but we also have to aerate the greens and punch the fairways, as well as groom the roughs with an aggressive attack on the weeds. Implementing this aggressive maintenance program means plush greens and fairways along with a beautiful course all year long.”

Coupled with beautiful amenities are very friendly members and a unique menu of membership opportunities that makes the Club at Boca Pointe the place to be! Memberships are available for residents and non-residents of the Boca Pointe community, whether full time and seasonal Floridians. As a membership driven club where you do not have to live to play, friendships and memories are made daily among South Floridians who just want to love life and live the dream!
